Nervous System Foundations Course

Welcome to the first step of your healing journey! This foundational course is designed to set the stage for everything we’ll work on together. Here, you’ll learn why the nervous system is the key to understanding your symptoms, finding self-compassion, and starting the path to lasting change.

This course is 30 mins long and is should be completed before your first 1-on-session.

LESSON 1

Why the Nervous System Is Foundational to your Healing.

The nervous system is the core of everything we do because it connects your experiences to your symptoms. It explains how physical pain, emotional overwhelm, and other challenges are linked—not random. By focusing on the nervous system, we address the root cause, not just the symptoms, giving you a clear path forward.

LESSOn 2

The Sympathetic Nervous System

The sympathetic nervous system is often referred to as the “fight-or-flight” state. It’s characterized by sensations like a racing heart, restlessness, or a constant “go mode.” This lesson explains why your body gets stuck here and how you can gently guide it back to balance.

LESSON 3

The Dorsal State

The dorsal state is known as the “freeze” or shutdown mode. It often feels like low energy, disconnection, or numbness. In this lesson, you’ll learn why this happens and discover strategies to shift toward safety and connection.

LESSON 4

The Ventral State

The ventral state is the state of connection and safety. When you’re in this state, you feel calm, grounded, and engaged. This lesson focuses on why the ventral state is key to healing and how to expand your capacity to stay there over time.

LESSON 5

Neuroception

Neuroception is your body’s subconscious radar, constantly scanning for safety or threat, often without your awareness. In this lesson, you’ll learn how neuroception impacts your triggers, emotions, and symptoms, and how to harness it for healing.

LESSOn 6

Triggers as Trailheads

Triggers are not something to fear; they are signposts pointing to areas that need attention. This lesson shows you how to use triggers as opportunities for growth and healing, rather than something to avoid.

LESSON 7

What Is Expected of You

Healing is a partnership, and your role is essential. This lesson emphasizes the importance of curiosity, commitment, and patience. By being open to learning, practicing the tools provided, and allowing time for change, you set yourself up for meaningful progress.
