Trauma Release Exercises Series

“These videos are intended to help you explore TRE further after your initial experience with it. For people who are drawn to this practice, it can become a cornerstone of nervous system regulation and help us to feel so much more at home in our own bodies”

Nate Singer

Physical lead-in to TRE

Most people gravitate to either a more physical lead-in to TRE or a mindfulness based approach. This first video is a demonstration of the physical warm-up, which is best used if you are extremely fit or feel particularly energized or agitated and would like to encourage your body’s natural tremor mechanism.

Mindfulness lead-in to TRE

If you don’t feel like you have much energy or physical capacity and would like to do TRE, any mindfulness practice that encourages your nervous system to feel safe is an excellent lead-in. Typically 7-15 minutes is a good amount of time to spend, and if you don’t have a practice that feels good to you yet, you can follow along to these guided movements.

Guided TRE Practice Session

The second video in this series is the heart of the TRE practice. Building on Dr. David Berceli’s groundbreaking TRE method, this session guides you through the complete process of activating and allowing your body’s natural tremor response. Through specific poses and movements, you’ll help your nervous system release deeply stored tension without having to revisit or process traumatic memories consciously.

This is an intuitive movement practice – this particular sequence is designed to help initiate your body’s natural mechanism to unravel tension. So if you feel pulled to move your body in a particular way that isn’t included here, please trust yourself and try that movement out. The goal isn’t to follow a precise recipe, the goal is to allow your body to move in a way that feels comfortable and right within your own system.

Important Considerations

Many people find TRE to be soothing and pleasant, but it can also bring up intense emotional states. This can be beneficial as this practice can help us process and move through these intense emotions. If this happens for you, please take as many breaks as needed and if you begin to feel overwhelmed you can always stop the session at any time.
